I am Fiona, if you have read my blog Cicadas & Marathons, you will know a little bit about me already.
First, of all, I am not a qualified dietitian or fitness trainer, and if you decide to follow any of my advice or suggestions, you do so at your own will. This blog is merely a recollection of my journey from flab to fab. I have read every diet book and watched every video available, and I have my own theories of success in weight loss, which I will record every step of the way and show you here. There has been no scientific research, just trial and error. My aim is to motivate others to try and lose weight, and you are free to do that in whichever way you chose.
I was born in England, but have lived in Greece for nearly 3 years. I am desperate to lose weight and feel amazing again, but also want to reduce the risk of any underlying health problems. My Mum suffered a severe stroke last year, and being overweight puts me at risk from all kinds of life threatening diseases, but the good news is that these can be reversible with sensible diet and exercise.
I am convinced that losing weight is more a state of mind than following any particular plan. I want to put my theory to the test and would also love to hear your stories and experiences. So far, I have lost over 20 kgs in 2 years. I have reached a plateau and now have to find renewed strength and willpower to make the final journey and lose the last 15kgs.
